About:
This app was designed based on user interviews to explore what visitors wanted from Withee Trang — a new eco-tourism destination in Trang, Thailand. The app supports different types of travelers, whether for a 1-day visit, a 2–3 day stay, or a long-term experience. With diverse features, it helps users explore local ecosystems and immerse themselves in Trang’s unique way of life.

With stakeholders in the Withee Trang project, we discovered that this place holds deep ecological value. Not just as a tourist spot, but as a model for sustainable tourism.
However, there was a clear gap: no existing touchpoint truly conveyed its rich stories like K' Withee, the founder, and his team of local experts could.
That’s where the Withee Trang Mobile App came in. A digital guide designed to share the ecological and cultural wisdom of the area, as if K' Withee and the local village sages were by your side throughout the journey.
The co-design process included ice-breaking, visioning, swot analysis, and programming, which led to the idea of developing a mobile app as one of the key touchpoints.

With the new programming of Withee Trang, the app was designed to accommodate a diverse range of users across different languages and age groups.
It needed to be intuitive and flexible to support engaging learning experiences for everyone.

For 1-day visitors, a recommendation feature suggests key spots and activities that fit within a limited timeframe.

For overnight guests, such as student groups or campers, the app offers a point collection system and interactive maps to enrich their experience.

For long-stay visitors, a pre-booking function allows users to plan and reserve activities in advance.
The app is designed to be user-friendly for all ages and supports various needs, including point collection, recommendations for places, activities, and food, an interactive map, and a pre-booking system for activities.

Next step:
I will test the app with staff and a diverse group of users including tourists, students, and long-stay visitors to gather meaningful insights. This feedback will guide the next phase of refinement, helping me improve the app’s usability, content, and overall experience. By continuously iterating based on real needs, I aim to ensure the app remains accessible, engaging, and truly supports sustainable tourism at Withee Trang.
